Summary

As the Electrical Engineer, Low Voltage within our Blue Arc--- division based in Plymouth, MI, you will play a critical role in the development of low-voltage electronic modules by managing electrical design projects and bills of materials for the Electrical Engineering Team.

In this role, your primary focus will be on engineering low-voltage vehicle electronic modules for Blue Arc's brand-new Class 3, 4, and 5 EV vehicles. In addition, you will partner cross-functionally to ensure that the modules function seamlessly within the larger systems of the vehicles and be involved in all aspects of the design and engineering process, from circuit design to integration.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing cost-saving and performance-enhancing improvement projects
  • Conducting system integrations alongside our electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineering teams
  • Producing electrical engineering documentation such as schematic drawings, harness drawings, design manual content, and operations and troubleshooting guides
  • Develop engineering bills of materials that are complete, accurate, and on-time
  • Processing approved engineering change requests
  • Identifying component and system behavior requirements for electrified system components
  • Coordinating design requirements, application reviews, and engineering releases with suppliers
  • Creating test requirements, coordinating component and system testing, and analyzing the results
  • Completing complex circuit analysis for responsible systems
  • Providing technical support in vehicle electrical systems for production, customer service, and mechanics
  • Representing The Shyft Group and Blue Arc--- at industry and technical forums and trade shows
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology
    • 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering expertise
    • Experience with engineering, designing, and\ndeveloping electronic modules with low voltage specifications
    • Hands-on experience using 2D Siemens Capital to\ndesign, analyze, test, and manage electronic systems
    • Ability to travel occasionally to support the\ngrowth of the business
    • Effective troubleshooting and testing skills
      What Makes You Stand Out
      • Heavy-duty truck and/or motor vehicle electrical experience
      • Expertise in designing, developing, and engineering of low voltage electronic modules
      • Knowledge and expertise in 3D Siemens NX and SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD
      • Familiarity with FMVSS requirements
