Job Description:
We are looking for a Tool & Die Supervisor to lead our team. The
Tool & Die Supervisor is responsible to provide direction and
leadership to the Tooling Department in order to achieve plant
business goals. The Tool & Die Supervisor is also responsible for
long-range planning and project management to ensure productivity
goals are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership within the department to establish and
improve upon a team-oriented work environment.
- Provides timely communication both within the tool room as well
as the other areas of the plant. Communicates short-term and
long-term goals of the company to all departmental
personnel.
- Coordinates with the production supervisor as well as quality
to have the dies ready when needed for the press lines.
- Assigns work to department personnel in accordance with
pressroom/production requirements. Provides department personnel
the information and resources needed to do the job effectively and
safely.
- Evaluates production repair situations and provides direction
as to type of repairs to be made.
- May perform all duties of die repair personnel with hands on
die repair and maintenance work.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties including
establishing work schedule, administers the clearing of dies on a
shift-to-shift basis.
- Counsel's employees on job performance. Recognizes achievements
and advises employees of deficiencies.
- Participate in the department hiring process to satisfy
staffing needs.
- Enforce that the work area is clean, safe and everything is in
its proper place.
- Identifies and implements tooling improvements.
- Press Project Management (continuous improvement).
Desired Experience
- 5 plus years' experience with Press, Tool and Dies
- Supervisory Skills: Knowledge of business and management
principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation,
leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people
and resources.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common
scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal
documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business
community.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical operations
to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test
reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation
techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or
scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical
problems.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an
individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet
software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word
Processing software.
