The company?s technologies are helping automotive companies produce stronger, lighter vehicles.SummaryThe purpose of this position is to collect, analyze, and report on data about product quality, ensuring that customer quality requirements/specifications are met. Promotes, upgrades, and supports continuous quality improvements.Responsibilities

  • Promote safety to all team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Operate PC-based software programs, including but not limited to: Motic Images, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Assist in the training of operators in the use of gages. Verify that operators are using gages and checking tools properly.
  • Assist in training new Quality employees in all aspects of Quality inspections and document training.
  • Conduct sort and rework of suspect material following sort and rework instructions and documenting results.
  • Monitor floor to ensure product is produced to customer specification.
  • Ensure operators are following inspection criteria and documenting inspections in a timely manner.
  • Perform first-piece inspection; sign off on first-piece inspection and identity part.
  • Conduct last-piece inspection and provide identification on the part itself.
  • Help to establish breakpoint for non-conforming material.
  • Conduct Olsen Cup, Macro, Shear Profiles and Destruct testing.
  • Use of work instructions and understanding of dimension tolerances.
  • Completion and filing of quality paperwork.
  • Perform cut and etch testing.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Understanding of customer issues and assisting in Quality alert communication and adherence.Desired Experience
    • Experience or knowledge is use of Quality testing equipment including but not limited to: depth gage, calipers, micrometer, tape measure, and product gages.
    • At least three (3) years of related work experience preferred.
    • Previous quality inspection experience preferred.
    • Must have a professional demeanor.
    • Must have good interpersonal skills.
    • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
    • Must understand match and statistics, including the ability to use a calculator and other basic measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.
    • Must be able to make good judgment calls concerning parts, quality, etc.
