Area Safety TrainerSummary of Position:The Area Safety Trainer will be responsible for developing, updating, and implementing effective safety and training programs designed to drive safety performance across the company in compliance with all laws and regulations.Who we are:Kanaan Communications, LLC provides a wide range of services to telecommunications providers including engineering services; outside plant construction (Aerial/Underground); plant maintenance; network upgrades including node splits, fiber & coax splicing, and activation/certification work. Kanaan has a specialized power supply team providing maintenance, capital improvements, and on-demand services. Join the Kanaan Communications Team!What you will do:Deliver and facilitate safety and regulatory training programs.Regularly visit area locations to ensure company safety, technical training programs and protocols.Develop measurement tools for training goals and objectives.Track and maintain safety and training.Demonstrate proper use of safety equipment, provide regulatory guidance and interpretation for safety issues while maintaining compliance with all regulations.Proactively provide training and safety improvement recommendations and solutions.Conducts meetings to communicate safety expectations to all employees and helps motivate the group to reach all safety goals.Builds safety presentations as needed.What we are looking for:Required:2+ years telecom industry/field experienceProven track record of technician trainingHigh School Diploma or GEDIntermediate MS Office Suite skills and familiarity with Google Suite.Intermediate MS Office Suite skills and familiarity with Google Suite.Preferred:1+ years leadership role involving safety and training and/or operationsDemonstrate proficient understanding in gaffing, confined spaces training, splicing of coaxial hardline cable, fiber optic cable and copper (wireline) cable, and aerial lift.Experience developing safety and/or operational procedures and policies with strong technical writing skills.Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.Certifications: OSHA 10, 20, 30 Hour CertificationWorking Conditions/Environment:The position will require flexibility to conduct orientation and training sessions, travel would fluctuate, as much as 60% of the time.An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety concerns demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or Field policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.Physical Requirements:Work is performed both inside and outside in all weather conditions. The candidate must possess the ability to lift and manipulate materials and equipment up to 100 pounds. Be able to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods.Additional Requirements:Candidates offered employment are required to submit to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug screening.
