This position performs a variety of integrated pre and
post-operative critical care functions. Nurses will intuitively use
the nursing process while applying a broad nursing knowledge in a
caring manner. Responsibilities include assessing patients for
physical, emotional, psych/social, and family support. Organizing
and coordinating all aspects of patient care according to the
patient’s real and/or perceived needs is essential. Evaluating
patient progress involves correlating patient information with
nursing knowledge to determine if goals are being met. Consulting
and collaborating with members of the healthcare team is necessary
for planning and implementing total patient care for individuals.
Candidates are required to have supervisory references completed
within the last two years. A skills checklist pertinent to the
specialty must be documented and current within the last year. 5
