Job Description:
IMC is a high-energy unit that promotes a positive culture and
work environment with flexible scheduling; we strive to maintain a
competitive nurse to patient ratio. Nurses on this unit are
teamwork oriented and have excellent support staff which include
nursing assistants, telemetry technicians and unit secretaries. We
care for a diverse patient population including, but not limited
to, respiratory, cardiac, and neuro illnesses. It is common to have
patients on cardiac drips, cardiac catheterization patients and
COPD/pneumonia/CHF patients. IMC staff meet once a month for unit
council to address staff concerns and serve as a voice for the
unit. Unit council also plans activities which include unit
outings, in house activities and volunteer opportunities. Corewell
Health Wayne Hospital Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed,
full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne,
Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by
the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and
certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing
partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of
health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused
hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a
high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal
services. Scope of Job The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of
practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide
professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered
care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care
under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell
Health policies and procedures. Job Description Qualifications
Associates in Nursing Required Bachelors in Nursing Required within
5 years Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have
at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of
experience in a licensed health care role and must have
successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination. MI Registered
Nurse (RN) Required AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
within 90 days AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Required within 6 months Specialty Certification highly recommended
within 2 years 1 year of experience as an RN in the ICU Preferred
