VETERINARY ASSISTANT CLASSROOM AIDE - PART TIME - DAYS - UP TO 8
HRS/WK - MONDAY - FRIDAYJob SummaryThe Classroom Aide may provide
assistance to Primary or Secondary Instructors in the classroom,
and students who need tutoring in individual and group sessions.
The Classroom Aide works under the direct supervision of the
Associate Director and with support from the Full Time Instructor
or other faculty.The Classroom Aide must never be delivering
Primary Instruction or Proficiency Completion to students, but can
be a resource to support student tutoring and remediation needs.It
is expected that the aide will continue to work in the Veterinary
field and gain work experience.Job Duties and
ResponsibilitiesClassroom Duties may include:Aiding with computers
and other technology in the classroomSetting up labs and doing
other classroom prep at the direction of the Primary or Secondary
InstructorHelping with hands-on activities in the classroomOther
non-teaching classroom or tutoring duties as assignedOutside of
ClassGiving tutoring to students as scheduled by the Associate
DirectorAssisting with restocking and cleaning of the classroomAll
work is to be performed on campusAt all times, Classroom Aides must
conduct themselves in accordance with the Ross Guidelines, which
include but are not limited to the following:Maintaining a positive
attitude towards faculty, classmates, and tuteesMaintaining
confidentiality of student information and academic
performanceAbiding by all standards of academic integrity including
cheating and plagiarismRefer to Campus Leadership, for any problem
which arises that seems to exceed the aides
abilityRequirementsGraduate from a Ross Medical Education Center
program as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician and have
externship 1 or more years work experienceFor graduates of diploma
or degree programs outside of Ross: 2 or more years work experience
in veterinary assistingState certification a plusMust have
sufficient ability to move around the building and classroom to
satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participationMust
have sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer
equipment, use telephone, read materials, use white board and use
classroom equipmentAbility to communicate effectively in classroom
and individual settingsKnowledge of materials (subjects) that will
be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross
curriculumAbility to adapt quickly in fast-paced work
environmentAbility to use current technology to maintain student
records, e.g., Microsoft Office, CampusVueAbility to achieve or
maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time
framesDemonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as
a representative of Ross and a student mentorAbility to remain
objective and treat all students equallyAttention to detail and
commitment to qualityAdhere to Ross Code of Conduct and
Professional Ethics
