Job Description Job Description We are a leading hydraulic, pneumatic, and custom cylinder manufacturer seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor who is both a process-driven leader and a hands-on technical mentor. In this role, you will oversee a high-mix, made-to-order production environment with a team of machinists and operators, ensuring our customers receive precision parts on time, every time. What You’ll Do Lead and develop a team of 25 machinists/operators with clear accountability, consistent communication, and strong coaching Own daily production scheduling, capacity planning, and labor allocation to meet aggressive customer lead times Oversee CNC machining operations, with a focus on HAAS machines and streamlined workflows Write and adjust CNC programs directly on the shop floor to support production success (primarily HAAS machines/controls) Drive process improvements through data analysis, standard work, and continuous improvement methodology Maintain real-time visibility into performance reporting on throughput, downtime, staffing, scrap, and quality metrics Develop and execute a cross-training plan to expand workforce flexibility and ensure coverage across key machining processes Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Quality to resolve bottlenecks Ensure adherence to safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards across the department What You Bring 10 years of experience supervising 25 direct reports in a machining environment Strong CNC programming skills (HAAS required) with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize feeds/speeds, and improve machining processes Proven success in scheduling high-mix machining production Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data-driven decision-making Proficient computer literacy - MES/ERP systems experience preferred (Epicor a plus) Track record of training, mentoring, and developing machinists into high performers Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where follow-through is critical Why Join Us Be a leader in a growing manufacturing environment where your decisions drive the business Work with a passionate team supporting a strong reputation in hydraulic and pneumatic innovation Competitive compensation for the right candidate Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and company-matched retirement plan Paid time off and holidays You should be proficient in: Leadership / People Management CNC Tooling Pneumatics Experience Hydraulics Experience CNC Programming Lean Manufacturing Principles ISO 9001 Certification Experience Scheduling Experience Machine Setups for Production Runs Machines & technologies you'll use: CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Haas) CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Haas) ERP Software CNC Mill (5 axis VMC) (Haas) CNC Lathe (5 axis)
